The Beacon
The Beacon - our new showroom and co-workspace where we realised the interior design, various moss walls and frames, green objects, planting, natural decoration, a Bio-pod Grand terrarium and a vertical garden for, among others, the City of Antwerp, UA, IDLab, Imec and Captif.

For years, Antwerp has been investing heavily in the power of digital networks and in developing an ecosystem for digital innovation, in which large and small companies, start-ups and scale-ups, researchers and capital providers come together. The city is convinced that the cross-pollination of major technology suppliers in IoT, flexible start-ups and scale-ups and top research has the potential to sustainably innovate the traditional industry and logistics – in which the city is already strong. This ensures strong international positioning, new business and jobs.
In The Beacon, the renamed Tolhuis, that ecosystem is anchored. IoT, which essentially connects ‘stupid’ devices and infrastructure by building in communicating sensors, is ideally suited for this. NADA is also a widely present party here. We took care of the total design of the departments of, among others. University of Antwerp, Imec and IDLab, thereby giving the building a green character.
In addition, The Beacon is also the test platform for the “AtmossfAIR” project, a joint venture between NADA, Mosmuur and Genano. Together we develop sustainable air purification installations in a green outfit, the operation of which is mapped by the IDLab and Imec sensors. In short: a unique showroom with a breathtaking view where visitors can admire, among other things, 52 moss walls, our atmosphere installation, office greenery and plants, various ecosystems, a bio-pod smart habitat and our PRICK collection.
